Top Ten Telltale Heroes #10

Sorry about the long wait, but truly, patience is a virtue. Now, the Telltale Hero who wasn't good enough to be number one, but wasn't completely terrible as to not make it on the list is...

#10: Javier Garcia (The Walking Dead: The New Frontier)

Out of all the Telltale Games I have played, The New Frontier is the one I like the least, which is why it’s this low on the list. However, it did have three characters that I liked enough not to give up on until I reached the end. The first two are series familiars: Clementine of the original Walking Dead games, and Paul ‘Jesus’ Monroe of the comic series (voiced also by Garrus Vakarian, one of my favorite characters of all time). The final one is, of course, our player himself, Javier Garcia.

Javier started off as a successful baseball player that fell on hard times after he was caught gambling and kicked off the league. Drowning in debt and hated by his absolute garbage of an older brother, Javier gets a new chance at life when the zombie apocalypse hits, with him surviving alongside his brother’s ex-wife and kids.

Javier’s got a good backstory

, some of his lines are really funny or charming (He honestly think he could charm a walker herd) and his voice actor, Jeff Schine, gives a really great performance, but he’s so low not only because he’s part of the worst game ever made by Telltale, but also because he has a habit of disobeying the player. More than once, I’d hit a dialogue option expecting one thing, and getting another (Chewing his brother out apparently means telling him that his wife’s gonna leave him instead of, I don’t know, calling his brother out for being a hypocritical and nasty piece of crap), and let’s not even get started on what he does if you decide to fight in the fifth episode. I’ve always hated The New Frontier, and sad to say, Javi’s lucky he even gets on this list.
